Tolo’s Restaurant partners with Six-Points
Legendary among cyclists, Tolo’s restaurant in Puerto de Pollensa has built an almost mythical reputation as the place to be for riders in Mallorca.
We’re delighted to announce that Tolo’s and Six-Points Cycling Challenge have partnered for our 2018 adventure around the island, and we’ll be enjoying their hospitality for dinner on this year’s ride.
Many of our reader’s will be aware of Tolo’s cycling history – close ties with Bradley Wiggins and Team Sky over the years have resulted in the walls being adorned with some incredible, modern pro-cycling memorabilia. Brad’s 2014 World Championship winning Pinarello and jerseys, to name a few.
Cycling adventure, tradition and cuisine plus raising money for charity – the perfect collaboration.
The Calvia Six-Points Charity Cycling Challenge is a Charity cycling adventure from Calvia to the six extremities of Mallorca – four compass points (north – Cap Formentor, south – Cap de Salines, west – St Elm and east – Cala Ratjada) and to the highest (Puig Major) and lowest (Magaluf beach) points on tarred roads in two and a half days.
It is a tough ride covering a total of 400 kilometres and 7500 metres of vertical climbing but has the character of a fun ride where camaraderie is very important and enjoying the wonderful mountains, countryside and cuisines of Mallorca is paramount.
The Six-Points will, this year, raise money for Asdica, a small local charity that does wonderful work to help the disabled. We hope to raise around €12000 for them.
The second edition of the Six-Points will take place on 18, 19 and 20 May 2018 and the finish of Day 1 will be at Tolo’s Restaurant at around 1630 and the riders will have covered 140 kms and climbed 3600 metres!
The riders and their friends and support personnel will enjoy a well deserved dinner at Tolo’s that evening and will start Day 2 there at 0830 on Saturday 19 May.
